San José's centro histórico is the best place in Los Cabos to shop for high-quality crafts, art, jewelry, and souvenirs. (Cabo is the best place to shop for the tacky stuff.) The jewelry shops lining Plaza Mijares are a good place to start, as are the streets fanning out west and south, and of course the galleries in the Art District are only too happy to have you stop by. You'll find crafts and some ceramics on Zaragoza along with some kitsch, and refined galleries on Obregón; while there's nothing really cutting-edge here, thanks to Mexico's strong and vivid arts tradition the art here is better and more original than the usual resort-town junk seascapes.
