Most visitors to this area take all their meals at their hotels. The few available alternatives include the restaurant at Boca de Guamá, and a couple of simple state-run roadside restaurants geared to tourists between Playa Larga and Playa Girón. The best of these is the Cueva de los Peces, Carretera Playa Larga a Girón Km 18 (tel. 45/98-4183), with good seafood and criolla cuisine. There is a handful of casas particulares in both Playa Larga and Playa Girón. One of the best casas particulares in the country, with incredible food, is Casa Luís and Marley, Carretera a Cienfuegos at Carretera a Playa Larga, Playa Girón (tel. 45/98-4258; casa@hpgiron.co.cu). Marked by cream-and-blue columns topped with lions, this is a modern casa with a front porch, back garden, two comfortable and well-equipped rooms, and ample parking space. The family is very friendly and offers some of the best food and service the country. Casa Enrique Rivas Fente, Caletón, Playa Larga (tel. 45/98-7425), is a very professionally run casa with excellent home-cooked food, two rooms that share a bathroom, and a large living room. Casa Ernesto Delgado Chirino, Caletón, Playa Larga (tel. 45/98-7278; ernestodccz@yahoo.es), has a small apartment with a separate entrance at the back of the house with a double and single bed and a kitchenette with fridge. There's no beach in front of this house but the little fishing boats bob outside.
