Besides the establishments listed, I've eaten well at the Quinta Real and Mesón del Jobito. The gordita, a thick tortilla that is split open and stuffed with any of several cooked fillings, might be considered the state food of Zacatecas, and the most popular gordita place is Gorditas Doña Julia, which operates three or four locations. The best coffee in town is at Café San Patrizio, in the courtyard at Hidalgo 403. It's open from Monday to Saturday from 9am until 10pm.
