Getting There
By Train -- Wieliczka is easily reached by regular train service from Kraków's main station, the Dworzec Gówny (pl. Kolejowy 1; tel. 12/393-11-11; www.pkp.krakow.pl). Departures average around one an hour. The journey from Kraków to the station Wieliczka Rynek takes about 25 minutes.
By Bus/Minibus -- The quickest way by bus is to grab one of the minibuses that depart for Wieliczka every few minutes from bus stops near the main train station and at stops on Pawia and Dietla streets (at the corner of Dietla St. and Starowislna). Tell the driver where you want to go and purchase tickets from him or her. In Wieliczka, leave the bus at the corner of Dembowskiego and Daniowicza streets. Alternatively, take bus no. 304 that leaves from the Krakowska Galeria shopping center close to the train station.
By Car -- It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the suburb of Wieliczka from the center of Kraków in light traffic. Follow route E40 in the direction of Tarnów and turn right following signs to Wieliczka. Direction signs will guide you to parking lots around the mine.
