Getting There

By Plane -- Major airlines fly into Louisville International Airport (tel. 502/368-6524; www.flylouisville.com), 10 minutes from downtown. There's frequent service from all major Midwest hubs. The flat rate for a taxi downtown is $20 (except during Derby week, when it runs about $35).

By Car -- The major routes into Louisville are I-71 from the northeast (Cincinnati), I-65 from the north (Indianapolis) and south (Nashville), and I-64 from the east (Lexington) and west (St. Louis).
