Norwegian Getaway Photo Slideshow

Norwegian Getaway Norwegian Cruise Line
The Norwegian Getaway is very much like her sister ship, the Breakaway, which was launched six months earlier. In fact, apart from the color of the decor, the names of the bars and restaurants, and the choice of entertainment, you'd be hard-pressed to separate one ship from the other. Both vessels are top-of-the-line for the mass market and are distinguished by some excellent Norwegian Cruise Line innovations such as a category of stylish Studio staterooms priced for solo travelers and The Waterfront, a Deck 8 space where bars and restaurants face out toward the sea—shockingly, that's an unusual configuration for any cruise ship.

The main reason you might choose one ship over another is for its home port. The Getaway serves Miami, so its music, bars, and shows are gently (but not substantially) inflected with a Latin theme, while the Breakaway, out of Mahattan, subltly evokes a New York City vibe. Both go to warmer climates for their runs.
