Two weeks in Costa Rica
We, six adults and two children, just got back from a two week trip to Costa Rica. Our itinerary combined the mountains, the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean.
We rented a van and traveled from San Jose to a hotel near San Ramon called, Lands in Love. We especially appreciated the chef, Nama, who was very accommodating of our daughter's fussy eating habits. She also took the time to explain the food she prepared. As vegetarians, it was nice to be presented with so many delicious options at each meal. In addition to the food, the setting was spectacular and the staff friendly and knowledeable. It was a convenient location to take day trips to, la Fortuna, a coffee plantation, zip lines, white water rafting and horseback riding.
From Lands in Love, we went to an Airbnb near Quepos. It was beautiful house complete with a fully stocked kitchen and a swimming pool. It was located about 15 minutes from Manual Antonio national park. The wild life at Manual Antonio was worth seeing, especially the monkeys, but the beach was crowded.
From Quepos, we drove six hours to Caribbean and stayed in the small city of Chauita. It was nice to experience a little of the Caribbean culture, see the Sloth sanctuary and see a coca plantation.
I would recommend a similar itinerary if you want to see great deal of Costa Rica in a short time.
