Kid Stuff

West Harwich gets some spillover from Dennis's overdevelopment, including such junior-tourist attractions as Harbor Glen Miniature Golf, at 168 Rte. 28 (tel. 508/432-8240), which costs $6 for those 12 and over, $4 for those 6 to 11, and $2 for those 5 and under; the Trampoline Center, at 296 Rte. 28 (tel. 508/432-8717), which costs $5 for 10 minutes; and Bud's Go-Karts, at the intersection of routes 28 and 39 (tel. 508/432-4964), which welcomes hot-rodders as young as 8, provided they meet the height requirement (54 in.). The go-karts are $6 per ride. All three are open until 10 or 11pm in summer. For free self-entertainment, visit Castle in the Clouds, a community-built playground behind the Harwich Elementary School, on South Street, in Harwich. Young culture mavens might want to take in a performance at the Harwich Junior Theatre, at 105 Division St., in West Harwich (tel. 508/432-2002; www.hjtcapecod.org), which has been satisfying summer customers since 1952; if you plan to stick around for a while, your youngsters could even take classes and possibly work their way onstage. Tickets cost $15 to $22 adults, $16 seniors 65 and over, $12 youths 20 and under.
