Perfectly located, close to rue Mouffetard but far from the madding crowds, this is a budget hotel that doesn’t feel like one. The rooms are snug, but every detail has been scrupulously considered, from the carved cherry wood headboards to the period fabrics on the windows, to the top-quality mattresses on the beds. Some rooms have exposed beams, others have wall murals, and those on the second, fifth, and sixth floors have small balconies with lovely views of the Latin Quarter. The same meticulous management runs a slightly higher end version of itself next door, Hôtel Minerve (www.parishotelminerve.com; tel. 01-43-26-26-04), with similar detailing and larger rooms (156€–275€ double; 212€ triple).
