Inside and out, white is indeed the law at this SoBe party-scene stalwart, another converted Deco building. The Whitelaw likes to tout its playfulness and hipness, starting with the motto, “clean sheets, hot water, stiff drinks” and moving right along to its whimsical decor—think Victorian-meets-Barbarella. Although stylish, fun, clean, and reasonably comfortable, rooms are smallish (as in most other local prewar building conversions), but the joint is definitely geared toward the more festive set who aren’t going to be spending all that much time in them. Some of that partying is right on-site, meaning mucho boom-boom for chunks of each day and night in its bar and white-leather-padded lobby, spilling onto the terrace; the owners themselves allow that families and folks looking for peace and quiet should probably bark up a different tree. By the way, the bar here does a pretty good job with breakfast, lunch, and light dinner fare.
