A fresh, fetching, even somewhat arty boutique property built in 2010, it’s perhaps one of the area’s more unexpectedly located: below the high-rise canyon of the Brickell Avenue business district, where both Brickell and Interstate 95 feed into Highway U.S. 1 as well as the Rickenbacker Causeway over to Key Biscayne. But this puts visitors in easy range of a fair number of offerings in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and elsewhere, with South Beach just a short drive away. On two floors, rooms (most with balconies) are crisp, contemporary, and done up in warm tones with original art—plus there’s more of said art all throughout the public areas, all of it for sale by Art Fusion Galleries in the Design District (in fact, a daily happy hour with complimentary nibbles and two-for-one tipples is designed to play off this art collection). A modest but quite charming pool area provides a cozy oasis including cabanas and a fire pit, overlooked by a 24/7 fitness room on the second floor that’s small but does the job quite well. The bistro, meanwhile, serves tasty sandwiches, salads, and small plates.
