An older but well-maintained hotel with an accommodating 24-hour front desk, this is a good budget choice for travelers arriving from Union Station (a five-minute walk) and visiting Chinatown, Olvera Street and El Pueblo, and Little Tokyo. The Walt Disney Concert Hall and MOCA are about a mile away. You could even walk to Dodger Stadium and get there faster than driving on traffic-choked game days. Two subway lines serving Union Station greatly expand your sightseeing options. The rooms are a bit worn and the decor outdated, but they are clean, comfortable and quite spacious for L.A. Mini-fridges are a nice bonus. The huge bathrooms, which have been upgraded, have massaging spa showerheads. The complimentary continental breakfast is very basic, so if you want to fuel up for the day, ask the front desk to suggest some alternatives.
