Although selection is limited, Loreto after dark seems to offer a place for almost every nightlife preference. Happy hour starts in the late afternoon and ends shortly after sundown at gringo bars like Augie's (on the malecón btw. Jordan and Hidalgo), Del Borracho (5km/3 miles out of town on the San Javier road), and Mike's Bar (Hidalgo btw. Pipila and Madero). Of these, Mike's is the only one open past sunset. In addition, as is the tradition throughout Mexico, Loreto's central plaza offers a free concert in the bandstand most Sundays. However, Loretanos and their families are so hospitable that the best party may be the one to which you're unexpectedly invited.
