The shallow anti-heroines Patsy and Edina of Absolutely Fabulous spoke of it with the same breathless reverence most people reserve for deities. You’ll need the income of a god to afford a single thread of Harvey Nick’s women’s and men’s fashions, and although the British-owned store isn’t as popular as it used to be—it’s been here since the 1880s—a stroll through this eight-floor spendthrift’s heaven is entertaining. Note the lunching ladies on display in the fifth-floor restaurant—think of it as a zoo for old money.
