Casino magnate Steve Wynn is a fan of musicals, and he personally oversaw and recorded narration for this appropriate-for-all-ages, high-energy revue corralling well-known songs and production numbers from modern and Golden Age Broadway musicals ranging Cabaret to Chicago to Annie Get Your Gun. While all songs require (and deliver) a higher level of performance ability, no moment is too heavy, and no beat is too youthful—this is Wynn's playlist, so Rent and Wicked are off the list. The full on-stage orchestra is bright and brassy, the costumes sumptuous, and to keep this entertainment freight train rolling at the snappy clip it achieves, the volume knob feels like it's set to 8. The show is only 75 minutes long, and it says something about its quality that audiences have asked for more songs to be added (and indeed, some have been). Wynn is so proud of his handiwork that he brings his celebrity friends to see it—one night we were there, Steven Spielberg enjoyed it beside Wynn from the fifth row. The theatre's not a barn, so most seats will have good views.
