• Latin America Network Information Center (http://lanic.utexas.edu/la/ecuador): This site contains a collection of diverse information about Ecuador. Hands-down it's the best place for Web browsing, with helpful links to a wide range of tourism and general-information sites.
  • Hip Ecuador (www.hipecuador.com): This is a large and comprehensive tourism site in English, with loads of useful information, recommendations, and links.
  • Metropolitan Tourism Corporation (www.quito.com.ec): Quito's official tourism bureau maintains an excellent bilingual site, loaded with useful and current information.
  • Quito Cultura (www.quitocultura.com): Although this site is in Spanish, it's the place to go to find out what concerts, art exhibits, and cultural activities and events are happening in Quito.
  • Pure Ecuador (www.purecuador.com): This is the official website of the Ecuadorean Ministry of Tourism. There's a lot of information here, although much of it is quite basic, and the format can be hard to navigate at times. When this guide was published, it was rumored that they were working on improving a new official site: www.ecuador.travel.
