In addition to the hotels and inns reviewed, The Andes Hotel in Andes, despite its name, is primarily known for its restaurant and tavern, but it also has 10 renovated and pretty stylish (for the bargain prices) motel rooms (tel. 845/676-3980; www.andeshotel.com; $95 double).

Gone Fishin' -- Anglers who really just want to concentrate on the fish and don't want anything fancy or expensive should check out the Downsville Motel, routes 30 and 206, Downsville (tel. 607/363-7575; $70 double). The eight rooms are standard motel rooms, but they have private balconies overlooking the east branch of the Delaware River, and they're just paces from Al's Sports Store, which dispenses just about anything a fisherman could need.
